Chiropractic care in Woodinville that’s designed to end
Most chiropractic offices decide how many visits you need before they have finished examining you. Dr. Penner does it the other way round, and a two-day-a-week schedule leaves room for nothing else.

No prepaid plan
An estimate after the exam, not a package before it
The prepaid-plan model
- Twenty-four to forty-eight visits, decided in the first hour
- A second appointment to review results before anything is treated
- A prepaid package, discounted if you pay up front
- A contract, often six to twelve months
- Care ends when the visits run out
- Then “maintenance” visits, indefinitely
With Dr. Penner
Two days a week, so a long plan cannot fit
Dr. Penner treats in Woodinville on Mondays and Fridays. That is the whole schedule, and it is the reason none of the above is a promise you have to take on faith. A thirty-six-visit plan does not fit into two days a week. The practice cannot run on repeat visits, so it runs on the other thing.
You can check it yourself in about ten seconds: open the booking page and look at which days exist. The flip side is real too: slots go fast, so book ahead, or call 425-215-1880 and ask what is open.
Why prepaid plans exist, and why there isn’t one here
There is a structural reason chiropractic care tends to arrive in thirty-six-visit packages, and it is not clinical. Offices bill per visit, not per recovery. When the treatment plan and the revenue plan are the same document, the document gets longer. That does not require anyone to be dishonest. It only requires an incentive nobody is watching.
Dr. Penner has been in practice more than seventeen years, and in the Seattle area since 2009. That is long enough to have built a practice on repeat visits if he wanted one. The goal of the work here is to make you need a chiropractor less, not more.
Your first visit: examined, explained and, in most cases, treated the same day

In most cases you are treated the same day you come in, rather than booked back for a separate appointment to be told what the plan costs.
What you are agreeing to: one visit at a time
This holds whoever is paying — including when an insurer is footing the bill and there would be no cost to you in carrying on.
He tells you when you are done

Dr. Penner is great! He is not one of “those” chiropractors who tell you that you need to come in for “x” amount of sessions in order to solve your problem, which to me always feels like a scam. He does adjustments and let’s you decide if you need to come back. I’ve been seeing him for years, but can go months without needing an adjustment after even just one visit sometimes. Highly recommend!
Lori Wilbur · SoundCare Magnolia
I’ve seen Dr. Penner off and on for years now and have always been given good information and received the appropriate treatment that involved only a necessary amount of visits–no pressure to come for weeks and weeks if things were improving; which they always did. Dr. Penner has a calm and friendly manner and is a great communicator.
Deborah Ferguson · Woodinville
I came in to see Dr. Penner with severe upper back pain. He was able to adjust my back and get rid of the pain completely in two visits. I had minor adjustments done on a third visit but by then my pain was completely gone.
Robert Craven · SoundCare Magnolia
I went to Dr. Penner for intense headaches related to my neck. … He also didn’t try to prolong the treatment like some other practitioners.

Not sure how to tell the difference?
Five questions worth asking any chiropractor before you book, plus the red flags that usually mean a sales plan rather than a treatment plan. Read how to choose a chiropractor. You can ask all five questions on the phone, before you have paid anybody.
Questions people ask before they book
Do I have to keep coming back once I start seeing a chiropractor?
No. At SoundCare Chiropractic in Woodinville you pay for each visit you have, you decide whether to book the next one, and Dr. Penner tells you when you are done. If something new comes up later, come back. Most people do not need standing appointments.
How many visits will I need?
Most people are done in a handful of visits, but the real answer comes after the exam, not before it. Dr. Penner gives you his estimate out loud on your first visit, once he has examined you. It is an estimate, not a contract.
How soon can I get in?
Dr. Penner is in Woodinville on Mondays and Fridays only, and slots go fast, so book ahead. The booking page shows the open times, and you can book yourself without a referral. If nothing fits, call 425-215-1880 and ask. In most cases you are treated on that first visit, so the first open slot is also the start of treatment.
Does no treatment plan mean no plan at all?
No. You leave the first visit with a clear plan: what he found, what he treated, two or three things to do at home, and roughly how many visits he expects. What you do not get is a long-term commitment, or a bill for visits you have not had yet.
Is it normal for a chiropractor to ask you to prepay for a block of visits?
It is common, and it is worth being cautious about. AARP’s guidance on choosing a chiropractor is to steer clear of subscription-based practices and prolonged treatment plans (AARP, December 2025). The Woodinville clinic has no contracts, packages or prepayment, so there is nothing to lock you in.
Does insurance change how many visits I am told to have?
No. The number comes from your exam, not from your benefits. That holds whoever is paying, including when PIP or a health plan would cover more visits than you need. Coverage details are on the insurance and payment page.
What if chiropractic care is not the right treatment for my problem?
Then Dr. Penner tells you so. Numbness, weakness, or a sudden, severe headache mean urgent care or an emergency room first, not a chiropractor.
Stop hurting. Then stop coming.
